The info below guides you through setting up a Picasaweb account and contributing your photos to the UFR-IRWM effort. If you already have a Picasaweb account, please email your Gmail address to us and we can automatically add any of your public albums to our map..

To start using Picasa Web Albums, just sign in with your Google Account at http://picasaweb.google.com.
(If you use Gmail, you already have an account.)

Once you have an account you can start to upload photos.

Upload using Picasa Web Albums
Follow these steps to upload photos from within Picasa Web Albums:
Sign in to Picasa Web Albums at https://picasaweb.google.com
Click ‘Upload’.
Set your album title or select an existing album to add to.
Click ‘Choose photos to upload’.
Select multiple photos from the same folder: Press the Ctrl key (Windows) or the Command key (Mac) on your keyboard while clicking photos.
Select all photos in a folder: Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-A(Windows) or Command-A(Mac).

After the images upload, hover over a thumbnail to add a caption, zoom, rotate, or delete within the upload screen.
Click ‘OK’.

New albums will be visible to only you until you share them.

How to Add Location Information to Photos
Below are instructions for assigning map locations for albums and individual photos in Picasa Web Albums.
For entire albums:
From the My Photos page, click on the album you’d like to map.
Click ‘Actions, Album properties’.
In the ‘Place Taken’ field, enter the name of a place (such as a city name, address, or ZIP code) and click > Show location on map. Use the
accompanying map to help specify the location by dragging and dropping the marker to the appropriate spot.
Click ‘Save Changes’.

For a single photo:
When viewing an individual photo, click the Add Location link on the right side of the page. If a location has already been added to the photo, the link will appear as Edit Location.
Enter the name of a place (such as a city name, address, or ZIP code). se the accompanying map to help specify the location by dragging and dropping the marker to the appropriate spot.
Click ‘Save Location’.

For multiple photos in the same album:
Open the album map to add, edit and view the locations of all your photos on the map.
Click in to the album from the “My Photos” page.
Click ‘Actions, Album Map’.

Enter a location and click Go. If you’ve previously mapped photos, click &gt Edit Map to get back to it.
Drag and drop photos from the left pane onto the map. You can also select a photo in the left pane and then click a location on the map – no dragging required.
If you make a mistake, simply drag the photo marker to the correct location.

Map Location Visibility
By default, the map locations of your photos and albums will not be visible to others on Picasa Web Albums. You can control this setting in two ways:
Change the map visibility
On your “My Photos” page, click in to any album.
Under the map on the right side of the page, check (or uncheck) the box next to “Show my photo locations to viewers of this album.”

Share from Picasa Web Albums
Follow the steps below to share photos from Picasa Web Albums with email invitations:
In Picasa Web Albums, click into an album or photo.
Click ‘Share’.
If you’re sharing a single photo, the recipients will not be able to view the rest of the album.
Add the people (email addresses) you’d like to share with.
Click ‘Send Email’.

If you already have a Picasaweb account, please email your Gmail address to us, and this is all we need to add your photos to our online map.
